This position independently manages research projects in the Department of Neurology under the Layton Aging & Alzheimer's Disease Center and ORCATECH, which contribute national and international efforts to understand aging, research promising treatments for Alzheimer’s disease, develop technologies for health assessment and patient support, as well as genetics, neuroimaging and pathology.
This position is responsible for the implementation, coordination and management of clinical trials within the center, and requires mastery of clinical trials methodology and implementation. This position requires exercising judgment in taking independent action and seeking advice from investigators only as necessary. Primary duties include: finalizing the experimental design and operational details; supervising regulatory compliance; liaising with other study sites; supervising and assuring quality of all protocol elements (e.g., staff training, volunteer assessments, neuropsychologic testing, questionnaires, medical history and functional assessments of routine activities, as well as collecting and processing associated lab specimens); managing the hiring and training processes for new staff; training, supervising/mentoring of neuropsychological assessors within our center and other study sites. This position requires innate motivation, creative problem solving, and independent management of complex and detailed duties while working closely with investigators and other study staff.
