Function/Duties of Position

The Department of Anesthesiology - Research is recruiting for an MD or PhD level Basic or Translational Scientist with expertise in Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology and/or Advanced Imaging to join our group of experienced nationally and internationally recognized neuroscientists and molecular scientists who operate Federal and private grants and awards.


The work in our department intersects with the areas of neuroscience, cell biology, RNA biology, biochemistry, and pathology. Therefore, we are interested in candidates who have demonstrated expertise in the areas of regulation of gene expression, viral expression, and pathophysiology by long noncoding RNAs and microRNAs in cerebral injury and /or state of the art imaging such as in vivo 2-photon microscopy, laser speckle imaging, functional intrinsic optical signal imaging, and electron microscopy. 


Our labs consist of shared space and equipment that breed collaboration, teamwork, and innovation. Training the next generation of clinician-scientists, graduate students and postdoctoral fellows is among our mission for education.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate in medicine, philosophy, or basic science (M.D., Ph.D., D.V.M., etc) & postdoctoral training
  • Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Proficient in the use of computing hardware and software 
  • Regular and consistent attendance at work

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in the areas of Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, and/or Advanced Imaging
