Department Overview

This position coordinates scientific and administrative support activities for the multidisciplinary team at the Pacific Northwest Center for Cryo-EM (PNCC), a joint collaboration between Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) and the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). PNCC is a national facility serving and training Cryo-electron microscopy researchers in the entire US.

Function/Duties of Position

This position exercises a high degree of independence with minimal oversight post-training. The position activities include; procurement of center materials and supplies, coordinating remote conferencing calls for improved communication between center staff and project team members; welcoming project team members visiting onsite; ensuring access to OHSU facilities and instruments via established badging and training system requirements; organize and participate in shared outreach activities; backup for assisting and routing proposal submissions; and serve as IT contact for group. Required Qualifications

  • Four years of general office or secretarial experience; OR An Associate’s degree or certificate in office occupations or office technology and two years of general office or secretarial experience; OR A Bachelor’s degree and two years of general office or secretarial experience; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • 2+ years of Financial experience
  • Experience in editing documentation and content
  • Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills
  • Computer skills, including word processing, web searching, database entry, spreadsheet and/or database creation

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of customer service and/or concierge
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and time management
  • Participating as a team member in fostering and supporting teamwork
  • Familiar with Oracle, Cognos, iExpense and/or iProcurement

Working condition: Office environment.


Physical demands & equipment usage: Sitting for extended periods of time at a computer


Telework during modified operations. Ideal candidate will be coming to campus once modified operations are over.
