The purpose of this position is to support the mission goals and objectives of Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). The Office of Civil Rights Investigations and Compliance (OCIC) Director and Title IX Coordinator will develop, manage and lead the department activities, including policy, processes, and programs that protect and address civil rights complaints under applicable laws and regulations (including, but not limited to: Title VII, Title IX, VAWA, ADA, ADEA and state and local civil rights laws) and OHSU policies. The OCIC Director and Title IX Coordinator is expected to demonstrate leadership in the organization through effective management of staff and consultants, collaborative teamwork and creative problem solving.
The OCIC Director and Title IX Coordinator is responsible for developing and leading proactive civil rights training and participating in community outreach to diverse populations and university-wide diversity initiatives. The OCIC Director and Title IX Coordinator collaborates with and provides advice to University leadership, managers, Human Resources and others regarding civil rights and compliance matters.
The position requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders across the organization. The OCIC Director and Title IX Coordinator provides neutral support to all complainants and respondents as well as all members of the OHSU community, including employees, students, faculty and volunteers. The OCIC Director and Title IX Coordinator is expected to act with sound judgment and a high degree of integrity.

Occupant may triage and assign approximately 10-20 intakes per week and process and manage approximately 800 grievances/complaints and requests for reasonable accommodation per year. Travel to and participate/attend community outreach events.
Occupant may represent the University on a frequent basis.
