The Assistant Professor is a faculty member credentialed and privileged as an MD, with completion of an Ob/Gyn Residency, and may have independent surgical experience necessary to provide a full-scope practice. The Assistant Professor is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws. The Assistant Professor shall provide inpatient and outpatient clinical services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The Assistant Professor is expected to comply with all laws, regulations, OHSU policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice.

Scholarly Activities
Like all OHSU faculty members, Assistant Professors are expected to have some scholarly activity; this may be limited to educating learners as outlined below, but may also include research, and other grant supported work or academic papers and presentations in disciplines related to their field of expertise. Faculty members are expected to participate in clinical research as needed, often with the help of trained research support staff and senior faculty principal investigators.

As an OHSU faculty member this position would be required to participate in faculty meetings at the division and department level, and serve on OHSU committees and in other activities as requested by the department chair or division head in furtherance of division, department, or OHSU goals and objectives.
