Department Overview

Center for Health and Healing (CHH) Operating Rooms is a 15-bed OR primarily serving adult Daypatients and Overnight Daypatients across a large mix of service lines including: General Surgery/Minimally Invasive, Gynecology, Oral Maxillofacial, Neuro, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Plastics, and Robotic. New facility in Portland’s South Waterfront district with access to the main OHSU campus via aerial tram.

Function/Duties of Position

$10,000 hiring bonus

 

No weekend or holiday work required! No overnight call!

 

Surgical Preparation and Assistance.

  • Assembles supplies and instruments 
  • Checks supplies and instruments for sterility and proper functioning
  • Reviews procedure card 
  • Counts needles and sponges at start and end of surgery

 

 

Orientation for this position is approximately 12 weeks, but can vary based on candidate's experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduated from a Nationally-Accredited organization approved by the Oregon Health Authority AND Hold and maintain a national Surg Technologist Certification by NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technologists and Surgical Assistants)
  • BLS from American Heart Association prior to orientation
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years of hands-on experience in an OR setting.
