Function/Duties of Position

This position is focused on research-based data analysis, including but not limited to, performing quantitative image-based analyses on FFPE multiplex stained tissue samples and generating initial data and reports. Position will contribute to the image analysis and computational side of multiplex imaging-based assays within clinical translational research studies, including high dimensional data analysis, computational methods and generating data for ML/AI applications, single cell analysis, clustering, dimension reduction, data normalization and multi-assay data integration. Responsibilities include:

 

  • Process multiplexed images utilizing image analysis pipeline
  • Perform quality control of image data and image-derived resulting dataAssist in developing and implementing advanced computational algorithms to improve and scale the image analysis pipeline
  • Perform analysis and data visualizations to generate reports; discuss and communicate results
  • Participate in project collaborations with other teams, attend meetings and deliver requests

Work is generally 40 hours per week during normal working hours, however, some evening and weekend work will be required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience in biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, computer science/engineering, digital pathology, or related field; OR Master’s degree in relevant field and 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with data analysis, high dimensional single cell analysis, data visualization, and report generation
  • Experience or interest in imaging data, or multiplex images and biological markers
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, relay issues and troubleshoot, problem solving abilities, and high attention to detail
  • Interest in immunology/cancer research and reading relevant literature

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in biomedical engineering, bioimage analysis, bioinformatics, computer science/engineering, digital pathology or relevant field
  • Experience in software development and/or image analysis pipeline development
  • Experience in machine learning and/or deep learning, preferably in the digital pathology field
  • Experience with IHC and/or digital pathology
  • Knowledgeable in advanced image analysis techniques such as image registration, segmentation, and color deconvolution
  • Knowledgeable in cancer immunology
