Department Overview

The Butler Clock Physiology Lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to study circadian rhythms, sex differences, and the effects of circadian disruption on health and disease in animal models. Our lab is looking to hire candidates with curiosity and enthusiasm for science. The successful applicant will join a community at OHSU with strengths in circadian and sleep biology in animal models and humans.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Research fellows are strongly supported in their professional development by a mentoring team that provides guidance on career trajectory.
  • Duties will include animal and bench experiments, data analysis, and writing and presenting the results.
  • Salary and rank are commensurate with education, skills, and experience.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in biology, neuroscience, or similar field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with circadian rhythms research, electrophysiology, or systems neuroscience techniques would be advantageous but is not a requirement.
  • Familiarity with IACUC protocol development, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator or related, and statistical software.

Additional Details

  • Exposure to rodent dander, tissue, and fluid.
  • Lab bench work adn animal husbandry.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
