The purpose of this position is to provide support to outpatient pharmacy services and the pharmacy program, including but not limited to patient outreach, assistance with prior authorizations, and medication assistance. The individual is required to have extensive knowledge of third party processing, EpicCare and Epic Willow Ambulatory.

• Completion of high school degree
• State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License
• Certification from the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcareer Association. Certification must be maintained
• 1 year of Pharmacy work experience, or equivalent additional education
• Computer keyboard
• Ability to read and understand medical-related terms
• Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations
• Skill at manipulating small objects, e.g., needles, syringes, ampules
• Ability to use mechanical system for transfer of fluids
• Knowledge of and skill at application of aseptic technique
• Ability to establish priorities in workflow
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work under supervision of diverse Pharmacists
• Ability to handle competing demands on their time from clinic staff and/or patients and will need to effectively multi-task
• Must be able to perform well within a team environment and work in a collaborative and cooperative manner
• Must be able to deliver a consistently high level of customer service
• Ability to stand/walk for 6-8 continuous hours per day
• Ability to function for long periods of time using a computer terminal
• Must be able to work effectively with minimal direct supervision
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

• Formal pharmacy technician training program
• Inpatient and outpatient hospital pharmacy experience
• Medical and scientific nomenclature
