Function/Duties of Position

This position serves the entire healthcare business portfolio for the pharmacy department.  In partnership with Chief Pharmacy Officer and Associate Chief Pharmacy Officer, this position has accountability for business development activities that extend across multiple pharmacy service lines and operating units, including statewide initiatives.  Business development activities include but not limited to 340B Program, clinical pharmacy services, outpatient pharmacy services and Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) services expansion.

 

The primary responsibility of the role is identifying, creating and evaluating business development opportunities that will grow and optimize the pharmacy enterprise and designing the business models to capture the opportunity. Key accountabilities for partnership development, new service capability development, portfolio management, feasibility studies, and due diligence assessments.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced pharmacy degree (MS or MBA) or equivalent experience
  • Oregon Pharmacist License
  • Pharmacy practice residency or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a Pharmacy management positions
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the role of pharmacy services across the department
  • Comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the professions represented within the Department of Pharmacy Services
  • Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to apply the principles and practices of business, financial and human resources management
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards
  • Comprehensive understanding of the application of information management and technology in pharmacy practice and medication use systems
  • An understanding of the educational and scholarly mission of the Department of Pharmacy Services as part of an academic health sciences center
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
