This position will provide preoperative and postoperative care to all patient populations going to and from CEI OR.
This includes neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients requiring ophthalmic care encompassing routine to complex diagnoses. Patient care is provided for both in and out patients on a scheduled as well as emergent basis. 98% of the patients are cared for on an outpatient basis with the remaining 2% being in hospital patients. Regional referral and covers majority of emergency cases especially for retina service.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing for external hires.
Minimum of 2 years current Pre/Post/Perianesthesia Care nursing experience or 2 years current critical care nursing experience (*current: within 6 months).
Must be able to deal with competing needs and priorities of internal and external customers, including making correct judgments regarding ensuring safe conditions for patients, families, and other personnel.

Current, unencumbered Oregon RN license
Current BLS issued by AHA required at time of hire
Current ACLS issued by AHA required at time of hire
Current PALS certification issued by AHA required at time of hire
BSN preferred to internal candidates.
More than 2 years current PACU or Critical Care /ED experience or in an ambulatory surgical setting
Cross trained to intra-operative role.
Experience in an Ophthalmology surgical setting
CPAN, CAPA, or any applicable nursing specialty certifications.
