Department Overview

The OHSU South PACU provides 24/7 perianesthesia care to adult patients as well as some pediatric patients. The department cares for Ambulatory, Acute Care, and Critical Care patients arriving from home, the emergency department, or from the In-Patient setting and prepares them for surgery or other procedures. We also recover patients from anesthesia after their surgeries and transition them to the inpatient setting or discharge them home. OHSU is a Magnet designated hospital, a Level 1 Trauma Center, and the only Academic Medical Center in the state of Oregon.

Function/Duties of Position

$5,000 hiring bonus

 

The Perianesthesia CNA works as a member of an interdisciplinary team in the South PACU. Provides support to the nursing team for Pre/Post and PACU in Perioperative Services by performing simple procedures and treatments and maintaining a safe, clean, efficiently stocked, and friendly environment. The CNA is expected to float within the Perioperative Division.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Requires current Oregon CNA I Certificate at time of hire
  • BLS required at time of hire, issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or
    Military Training Network branch of AHA
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of CNA experience in a hospital setting
  • CNA II Certificate
  • Experience in EPIC program
