Department Overview

The CRSO helps to facilitate efficient, compliant, and transparent clinical research at OHSU by providing the centralized services common to clinical research studies. Find out more at our department homepage: Clinical Research Services Office.

Function/Duties of Position

This position is responsible for managing the efforts currently underway to implement the new CRMS through the initiation, planning, execution, and operational support phases. The position will provide coordination and support to the identified business partners in achieving the following objectives: (1) Plan and organize the design and system configuration sessions between OHSU and Vendor (2) Facilitate the development and implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures and training plan (3) Monitor system integration support, data migration and system testing schedules and (4) work to ensure OHSU deliverables are completed and executed.

 

The position works closely with a variety of resources throughout campus, OHSU stakeholders and subject matter experts and the CRMS vendor. This position requires the ability to work autonomously and move key project and business decisions forward as needed. In addition, this position will act as a lead within the research applications and technology team, by implementing and supporting business process for best practices as related to the system implementation lifecycle

Required Qualifications

  • Must have seven years of cumulative paid working experience in the information technology field; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate’s degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree. One year of relevant paid work experience may be substituted for each two years of graduate study in information systems or related subjects.
  • Two years or more paid work experience as a Systems/Application Analyst or Entry-level Information System Project Leader working on a project team implementing information system projects.

  • Must have experience overseeing and manage a team as they work through a system development life cycle.

  • Significant organizational skills and can lead projects from conception, schedule, design, testing, through implementation.

  • Understanding and ability to apply the 5 Process Groups and 9 Knowledge areas defined by PMI to a variety of projects.
  • Ability to work in a highly autonomous role by demonstrating self-motivation and creativity in design approach.
  • Ability to proactively pursue problem resolution to satisfy customer needs.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex tasks efficiently while successfully meeting assigned deadlines.
  • Ability to coordinate a large group of diverse people.
  • Demonstrate Core Competencies as established for your position (Leading Self, Leading Others, Leading Leaders, Leading Function)
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge and understanding of project coordination and management.
  • Experience in an academic research environment.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or another form of Project Manager Certification
