Department Overview

This position is working on a shift basis covering the OPAL-K consult phone line. The Oregon Psychiatric Access Line about Kids (OPAL-K) is a program providing psychiatric consultation to primary care providers treating children and adolescents in Oregon. 

 

The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Evidence-based Child Psychiatric Treatments, have a solid foundation in child development, understands Systems of Care Theory and Application, is facile in using computer based medical records and data systems, has HIPAA Compliance knowledge base, is proficient in providing consulting diagnosis and treatment recommendations, is expert in the use of psychopharmacological therapies and is facile in using the biopsychosocial model.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Provide “Curbside” Phone and Video Consultation
  • Complete Data Form and Treatment Recommendations
  • Attend Bi-monthly OPAL-K consulting psychiatrists QA meetings
  • Provide peer review of cases at scheduled team meetings
  • Other consultation and educational duties as assigned by medical director
  • Participate in weekend call coverage in Child Psychiatry

Required Qualifications

  • Must have Oregon license and be Board Eligible or Certified in child psychiatry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of clinical practice experience, teaching experience and experience with consultation and liaison services.
