We provide fast-paced, patient and family-centered, pediatric PeriAnesthesia care. Pediatric patient populations range from neonates to young adults and include ambulatory, inpatient, urgent/emergent surgeries, after hour’s sedation and prolonged procedural recoveries.  Positive collegial relationships with all interdisciplinary team members.  

 

The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. The Clinical RN’s care delivery is consistent with the Oregon Nurse Practice Act, the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, and the ANA Code of Ethics. The Clinical RN demonstrates the professional role obligations of scientist, leader, practitioner, and knowledge transferor [Onsomble Model of the Professional Role™]. Professional accountability enriches the Clinical RN’s engagement as a leader in promoting an inter-professional culture of collaborative decision-making, innovation, life-long learning, and teamwork. Required Qualifications

  • Associate or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA)
  • BSN preferred
  • Associate Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire.
  • Skills including fluency in oral and written English.
  • Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information and tools.    
  • Minimum of 2 years Pediatric Sedation, Pediatric Intensive Care and/or Pediatric Phase I recovery current experience from a tertiary hospital setting
  • Current, unencumbered Oregon State Registered Nurse License
  • Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network branch of AHA (upload documentation with online application
  • PALS certification

  • Applicable policies, procedures and agreements related to position, department or OHSU as a whole
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

Fluent in a language other than English, most needed is Spanish

ORIENTATION:   

  • Specialty Experience: 4-6 weeks (Variable)
  • Experience, but not in specialty area: 6 -8 weeks (Variable)
  • Resource: 4-6 weeks
