OHSU Family Medicine is part of OHSU School of Medicine. OHSU Family Medicine is focused on family health. Family Medicine clinics are home to more than 120,000 patients every year, but despite the large number, our physicians, nurses and other clinic staff know their patients - and their families - by name. We provide all that family medicine has to offer - from maternity care through geriatrics. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
Summary of Position:
The OHSU Adventist Health Portland Family Medicine Organizing Residency Director is a full-time academic position in the Department of Family Medicine (DFM) at OHSU School of Medicine (SoM) and a full-time member of the management team at OHSU Adventist Health Portland. The position reports to the OHSU DFM Chair and Vice Chair of Education and to the Graduate Medical Education (GME) Designated Institutional Official (DIO) at OHSU. The duties of the position are to support the missions, goals, and objectives of OHSU SoM, the OHSU DFM, OHSU Adventist Health Portland, and the OHSU Adventist Health Portland Family Medicine Residency Program.
Positions reporting (directly and indirectly) to the Organizing Residency Director will include all faculty and residents in the program, the residency coordinator and administrative support personnel, the manager of the family practice center and clinical employees of the residency practice. The Organizing Residency Director will regularly attend required meetings with the OHSU DFM and will ensure that the residency’s faculty and residents comply with the policies and procedures of OHSU SoM and the DFM. The director will be evaluated annually by the OHSU DFM Vice Chair of Education with regards to the conduct of the teaching program and the management of its faculty and residents. The director will also attend required management meetings of the senior staff of OHSU Adventist Health Portland and will prepare an annual program budget to be approved by the OHSU Adventist Health Portland CEO. The program director will be annually evaluated by the CEO with regards to the program’s financial performance, clinical mission objectives, and compliance with the policies and procedures of the medical center.
