Department Overview

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

This position reports to (supervisor): Elizabeth Munro, M.D., Division Head, Gynecologic Oncology

The duties of this position include: provide clinical care to patients of the University Hospital and Clinics, and affiliated hospitals and clinics; establish and maintain a program of scholarly research activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes, detection, and treatment of diseases; teach medical students, house staff and the regional medical community; engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups as approved by the Department Chair; participate in the administration of the School of Medicine as appointed by and approved by the Dean.

Function/Duties of Position

  1. Responsibility for outpatient and inpatient Gynecologic Oncology services, to include faculty staffing assignments and the development of a faculty-based Gynecologic Oncology practice.
  2. Staffing outreach clinics at local and regional sites.
  3. Support for a Gynecologic Oncology center of excellence in collaboration with the Cancer Center, the chemotherapy unit as well as community physicians.
  4. Responsibility for development with other members of the Division of the gynecologic oncology component of the preclinical, clinical, postgraduate (CME and resident) and allied health educational programs.
  5. Fostering of research activities with other faculty members in the division.
  6. Support in assuming a sound Gynecologic Oncology division budget with the Division chief, participation in departmental management and acceptance of institutional committee assignments as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • MD degree, AND
  • Oregon licensure, AND
  • Completion of gynecologic oncology fellowship. 
  • Applicants must have the potential for academic accomplishment; and be board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and in Gynecologic Oncology.
