Function/Duties of Position

OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, one of the nation’s top-ranked children’s hospitals according to US News & World report, is offering an opportunity for a dynamic leader in Adolescent Health to expand a thriving clinical practice and academic program. The Division of Adolescent Health provides essential primary and specialty outpatient and inpatient care to highly vulnerable populations.  Specialty care includes eating disorders, gender care, contraceptive and gynecological care, sexually transmitted infections, mental health care, school-based care, and support for transition to adult care.

 

The Division Head will direct the clinical, research, educational, and advocacy activities for the growing division.  The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership and communication skills, outstanding clinical expertise, and noteworthy scholarly accomplishments.  Applicants should be committed to clinical and academic excellence, teamwork, and mentorship of faculty, trainees, and students.  

 

The Division Head will oversee the strategic development and performance of the division, including: 

  • Recruiting, developing, supporting, and retaining excellent faculty
  • Ensuring the delivery of high quality, evidence-based clinical care
  • Promoting faculty scholarship and research
  • Collaborating with clinical operations leaders to optimize clinical efficiency and enhance patient experience
  • Managing faculty clinical productivity
  • Assisting with the development of annual budgets and revenue projections
  • Aligning division activities with the policies of the Department of Pediatrics and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital

Required Qualifications

  • MD Degree
  • Completion of fellowship training and board certification in Adolescent Medicine
  • Eligibility for Oregon Medical License
  • Current DEA certificate
