Department Overview

This position will support the functions of our Stem Cell Center for inherited retinal degenerations. Experiments will include reprogramming PBMCs to iPSCs and characterizing the generated iPSCs. This position will also manage the sequencing equipment in the Stem Cell Center. 

Function/Duties of Position

Experiments will include reprogramming PBMCs to iPSCs and characterizing the generated iPSCs for many different patient samples harboring different genetic mutations.



Manage the sequencing equipment in the Stem Cell Center. 



Support the general functions of our Stem Cell Center which include ordering supplies, communications with collaborators, maintaining equipment and regulatory paperwork.

Required Qualifications

Master's Degree in relevant field AND 3 years of relevant experience OR Bachelor's Degree in relevant field AND 5 years of relevant experience.



Efficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Photoshop. Communicates effectively in both written and oral formats.



Innovation and problem solving required.  Ability to mentor volunteer students. Demonstrated evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to manage competing priorities.  Ability to meet deadlines and urgent system needs.  Ability to work independently; willingness to serve as a positive and professional role model.  Must have demonstrated record of reliable attendance, punctuality and proven successful performance in past and present.
