The Center for Evidence-based Policy (Center) is a national leader in evidence-based decision-making and policy design. The Center works with state policymakers in over 25 states to help them use high-quality evidence to guide decisions, maximize resources, and improve health outcomes. The Center is objective and nonpartisan, working in states nationwide and supporting evidence-based decision-making. The Center does not lobby or accept funding from industry, advocates, or trade associations. Though embedded within OHSU, the Center is entirely self-supporting.
The Center operates as a highly collaborative environment, with an emphasis on teamwork and input from a variety of perspectives. The Editor revises and edits Center materials to ensure accuracy, parsimony, grammatical correctness, readability, internal and external consistency, professional appearance, and conformity with Center guidelines. The Editor creates and maintains templates for various projects and ensures their consistency. The Editor maintains style and reference guides for the Center and advises Center staff on grammar, usage, style, and formatting, ensuring all deliverables adhere to the guides and templates. Because the Center produces material at a high volume, the Editor must be very experienced with Microsoft Word styles and tables, PowerPoint master slides, Excel chart formatting, EndNote reference management, and Adobe Acrobat document preparation. Products include reports, presentations, and proposals delivered to state agencies, legislators, national and international organizations, pharmaceutical companies, press contacts, and others.
