Department Overview

OHSU Maternal Crossed Trained RN support both Labor & Delivery and the Mother Baby Units to meet operational needs for both units and to provide additional flexibility in staffing for rapid census fluctuation.

The Labor & Delivery Unit has 12 labor suites with jetted Jacuzzi tubs, a 4 bed triage area, 3 dedicated operating rooms, and a 2 bay PACU. We provide patient care for our most complex and fragile patients as well as to patients who prefer low intervention births. We have a robust midwifery practice that also promotes underwater birth. OHSU also has a specialized program coordinated by our maternal fetal medicine providers, neonatologist, pediatric surgeons and specialty care coordinators who help coordinate care so our families have all the cutting-edge care at their fingertips. It is truly an exciting place to work.

Mother Baby Unit - providing postpartum, newborn and antepartum care to low and at-risk populations. Care is provided to mothers and their newborn infants and to antepartum patients who require periodic fetal monitoring on a typical hospital unit. The unit has 26 private beds and the rooms were recently remodeled.
