Department Overview

Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity to join the faculty of the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) Knight Cancer Institute. We are currently searching for providers with a subspecialty/focus in Blood & Marrow Transplant/Cellular Therapy. Faculty applicants may be eligible for senior positions, based on external funding and publications, commensurate with experience, as determined by the OHSU School of Medicine. Clinical and/or laboratory-based investigators are both encouraged to apply—an outstanding career move for candidates with a clinical and/or laboratory-based research focus and a strong record of external funding and publications.

The OHSU Blood & Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program is a large program experiencing significant growth and is pursuing the recruitment of faculty with an interest in clinical and translational research, with a record of providing high quality clinical care. Successful candidates will have an extraordinary opportunity to integrate their research into a highly dynamic environment, inclusive of robust programs in blood and marrow transplantation, hematologic malignancies and the emerging field of cellular immunotherapy. Extensive Knight Cancer Institute resources are comprehensively focused on changing the treatment of hematologic malignancies. We have created an environment that has attracted highly driven and talented visionaries who, together, are moving cutting edge science into the clinic.

The Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology currently has over 110 faculty and is comprised of programs in the general hematology, solid tumor oncology, bone marrow transplant & cellular therapy, hematological malignancies, and palliative medicine. The Division also oversees faculty in a number of community practices, known as Community Hematology and Oncology (CHO), and maintains a strong collaboration with the VA Medical Center, linked to the main campus by a skybridge.  Our clinical practices enroll more than 5,000 new patients each year.

The Division, the largest component of the Knight Cancer Institute, has a goal of providing outstanding patient care, ensuring access to high quality clinical and translational clinical trials, and integration of basic research. The Division has grown significantly over the past decade, and significant growth is projected.

The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute is an international leader in research and cancer treatment. We offer unprecedented resources to transform cancer early detection, diagnosis, intervention, and treatment, supported by the successful conclusion of a $1 billion fundraising campaign completed in 2015. Known as one of the pioneers in personalized cancer medicine and early detection, the Knight Cancer Institute creates an environment that encourages visionary leadership and dedicated teamwork in support of ending cancer as we know it. Our vision is a world freed from the burden of cancer, and our guiding principles remind us we are a bold, supportive, and connected team.
