The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides patient care in a multidisciplinary team model in the Cardivascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) & the Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit (NSICU). The APP faculty works in partnership with faculty physicians, fellows and residents to provide excellent clinical care and customer service. The APP faculty works in conjunction with other faculty and OHSU leadership to promote OHSU’s missions of excellence in patient care, teaching, research, and public service as well as the strategic goals to excel in patient safety, quality, cost-effective, and efficient care.

The CVICU team provides tertiary care to critically ill patients with cardiovascular disease while the NSICU team treats critically ill patients with neurological injuries. Care in both ICUs follows evidence-based guidelines and clinical pathways developed by the multidisciplinary team. This posistion is a dual appointment with .50 FTE occuring in the CVICU and .50 FTE occuring in the NSICU.The APP faculty is expected to work a fair share of weekday, night and weekend shifts. If desired, the APP faculty may choose a night shift-only assignment after an appropriate orientation period.

Academic and professional development through attendance and/or participation at national/regional conferences is encouraged. The APP faculty may participate in a program of scholarly research activity directed toward improved understanding of the causes, detection, and treatment of diseases.
Successful completion of a Master Degree in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing in the specialty of Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG ACNP) from an accredited program.
Current RN and NP licensure with the Oregon Board of Nursing.
Current ANCC Certification in the area of specialization.
Current ACLS certification
OR
Successful completion of a Master Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
Current PA licensure with the Oregon Medical Board.
Current NCCPA Certification.
Current ACLS certification
2 years of experience as provider in inpatient acute or critical care setting, ideally with focus on cardiovascular or neurologic pathologies.
