Department Overview

OHSU Facilities supports all missions of OHSU through ensuring patients and staff have the environments they need to do their best work. OHSU Anywhere's Flexible Use Space Program, administered by Facilities, carries these goals out through an even higher service level for our flexible workforce.

 

This Non-OHSU student worker position will work in the OHSU Anywhere Flexible Use Spaces, providing user support, organization, light cleaning, supply stocking, physical space curation, customer service, answering and responding to customer/user requests via email, telephone, teams, and in-person. All position functions must be performed physically on-campus, with no remote work possible.

Function/Duties of Position

Assigned tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing daily rounding of spaces, emptying trash and recycle bins, wiping down and sanitizing desk surfaces, pushing in chairs, cord management, etc
  • inventorying chairs and equipment to ensure no items are missing
  • assisting users with archibus booking module, potentially booking spaces for users as needed
  • providing wayfinding support to wayward patients/employees as needed, inside and outside of flex use space
  • making updates to user materials as needed
  • assisting with reporting on space use, surveying users
  • providing cross-training and backup support to Facilities Triage Center
  • other communication with customers and other assigned tasks.

Tasks assigned to non-OHSU student workers provide an introduction to OHSU Facilities and space management as a profession and experience that can lead to careers at OHSU in addition to highly transferable skills applicable to a variety of fields.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; OR Equivalent
  • Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours).
  • Time Management skills, include timeliness, dependability, and ability to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Comfort and familiarity with computers, Microsoft and iOS applications.
  • Willingness to learn new things.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work well without direct supervision.
  • Compliance with Code of Conduct, Respect in the workplace and Applicable policies, procedures and agreements related to position, department or OHSU as a whole

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer service experience, especially in the area of assisting customers in learning new technologies and processes

  • Front line food service, cleaning, other service-oriented experience a plus

  • Moderate experience using all Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Visio.

  • Proficiency in calendaring and email application such as Outlook.

  • Project Management skills

     

Additional Details

  • This position requires between 10 and 20 hours per week on average, with approximately 30-40% of work at a computer and 60-70% work moving around in spaces. On-site work will be at the main OHSU Marquam Hill campus, with potential intermittent needs to travel via walking & tram to the south waterfront and 3030 Moody campuses.
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and to travel to various buildings and offices on the OHSU campuses; use a computer for part or most of work shift. Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (cases of printer paper). Able to use a N95 respirator as necessary.
