The trauma, critical care, and acute care surgery advanced practice provider (APP) is a faculty member in the Division of Trauma, Critical Care & Acute Care Surgery. In this role, the selected candidate will work as part of a high-performing Trauma team in the Level I Trauma program at Oregon Health & Science University. The hospital is a tertiary referral center with a robust group of consultants and specialists. The selected candidate will be expected to fill a critical role on the Trauma team as an APP providing patient care in the Trauma/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (TSICU), Trauma Acute Care Unit (TACU) and in Emergency General Surgery (EGS) ACU Trauma/EGS outpatient care. The appointee works in partnership with faculty physicians, fellows, and residents to provide excellent clinical care and customer service to patients; works in conjunction with physician faculty and OHSU leadership to provide services to further the University’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, and public service as well as the departments and OHSU’s goal of providing effective and efficient care. This position will work cooperatively with nursing staff to provide education, continuity, and quality improvement initiatives.

PA Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant training program. Current registration with the Oregon Board of Medical Examiners as a licensed Physician Assistant. Current ACLS certification. DEA certification.
NP Qualifications: Master Degree in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing in the specialty of Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) from an accredited program. Current RN and NP licensure with the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Current ANCC Board Certification. Current ACLS certification. DEA certification
Required skills and experience:
Preferred 2-3+ years of experience as a PA , NP and/or RN in critical care; preference for trauma/surgical critical care experience. Interest in learning advanced clinical skills required to practice in the ICU environment and also flexibility to work in different trauma care settings.
