Reports to: Section Chief, Community Oncology
Title: OHSU Clinical Associate (eligible for Clinical Assistant Professor)
Position Summary: The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.
This position will have responsibility for overseeing the Breast Cancer Program at our Community Hematology & Medical Oncology practices. While clinic responsibilities most likely will be focused at the Good Samaritan and Meridian Park locations, this Breast Cancer Specialist will be responsible for establishing and deploying consistent clinical standards across the community locations (in total five sites). The Breast Cancer Specialist collaborates with the Breast Program at OHSU’s main campus to ensure consistent clinical standards and to work to deploy clinical trials in our community sites. While the Breast specialist has a specific focus, as a community hematologist oncologist the physicians are considered generalists and may see other patient types. The position includes primarily outpatient coverage, but on-call coverage across the group is required. Teaching and Research pursuits are expected, including clinical teaching of fellows in a community based longitudinal clinic and clinical trial participation.
