Function/Duties of Position

Reporting to the Sr. Associate Dean for Finance & Administration in the School of Medicine (SoM) and to the Sr. Associate Dean for Research, the position is responsible for administrative and financial management for the research mission in the School of Medicine. They will provide senior-level counsel and operational support to the Sr. Associate Deans and SoM Department Administrators with the purpose of ensuring that the research administrative, operational and financial services are provided in the most efficient and effective manner and with the highest integrity.

 

Under the direction of the Sr. Associate Dean for Research, assist in the development and implementation of strategic planning efforts for the research mission including the development of implementation plans and outcome measures.  This position will act as liaison between all research programs, SoM, CRO, Provost, etc. to represent and coordinate the needs and interest of research administration from Chairs and DA’s in the SoM in coordination with the SAD for Research.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Fifteen years of experience in a related field with at least 10 years’ experience in a progressively responsible management experience.
  • Knowledge of medical school and university policies and procedures. 
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with OHSU campus constituencies.  Expertise of accounting systems, interpretation methods, and analysis. 
  • Extensive knowledge of office application systems.
  • Expertise in formulating budgets, projections and analysis.
  • Must be results-oriented, disciplined, have excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership ability, creativity, and high energy; strong team development skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fifteen years of experience in an academic setting.
