OHSU's singular focus on improving health starts with Oregonians and has global impact. We are the only academic health center in Oregon, but we're also nationally distinct as a university dedicated solely to advancing health sciences. This allows us to concentrate resources on research to prevent and cure disease, on education that prepares physicians, dentists, nurses and other health professionals to succeed in an evolving health care environment, and on patient care that incorporates the latest knowledge and discoveries. We have 16,000 employees and secure competitive research funding of more than $400 million a year. As a public organization, we provide community outreach and services for Oregon's most vulnerable populations. OHSU’s stated mission to improve the health and quality of life for all Oregonians through excellence, innovation and leadership in health care, education and research.

With a strong tradition of teamwork, diversity and interdisciplinary care, we believe all children deserve the best. At Doernbecher, we built a hospital around that belief. It’s why we have more specialists in children’s health than anywhere else in the state. We offer the newest and most advanced treatments available, along with innovative collaborations and research opportunities. As Oregon’s only academic health center, we strive to offer the best medical care to every child across Oregon, Southwest Washington and beyond.

About Portland and Oregon
Link https://www.travelportland.com
Bisected by the Willamette River, Portland is a vibrant city nestled among green woods and waterways. Only 90 minutes from the spectacular Oregon coast or towering Mount Hood, Portland offers the rare accessibility of snow-to-surf. Portland embraces cyclists, hikers, brewpubs, dogs, climbers, artisan coffee shops, book readers, foodies, professional soccer and basketball fans, award-winning wineries, concertgoers and paddle boarders. It’s no wonder Portland constantly ranks as one of America’s favorite lifestyle cities.

The Division of Pediatric Neurology at OHSU is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as an essential member of the inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and outpatient epilepsy clinic service. The Pediatric Neurology Epilepsy Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides collaborative and multidisciplinary care of children with epilepsy with a team of attending physicians, resident and fellow trainees. The APP will work in a collaborative and independent manner caring for children with epilepsy as part of the OHSU Doernbecher Childhood Epilepsy Program, providing inpatient and outpatient care for infants, children, and young adults with seizures and epilepsy throughout Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.  Our services including comprehensive diagnostic evaluations, unique treatments such as ketogenic diet therapy and brain stimulation, novel therapies available under clinical research protocols, and epilepsy surgery.

The APP faculty will have numerous opportunities to become involved in quality improvement work, education, research, and childhood advocacy. Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, the Department of Pediatrics, and the Division of Pediatric Neurology are committed to developing our faculty members’ careers. A pathway for academic promotion for the APPs was recently implemented at OHSU. Professional participation is expected including attendance in relevant educational conferences and didactic conferences. As education is an important part of the OHSU and Doernbecher Children’s hospital mission, the APP will have a central role in teaching students and trainees.
