Department Overview

This position will serve as a General Cardiologist at the Knight Cardiovascular Institute program at, OHSU Health-Hillsboro Medical Center, located in Hillsboro Oregon. We are seeking a General Cardiologist to serve the efforts of OHSU and Hillsboro Medical Center in improving the health of Oregonians. In this role you will provide cardiology care in both the ambulatory and inpatient services.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Serve as a clinical General cardiologist. Duties include outpatient clinic, inpatient cardiology and cardiology consult services. Additional duties will include in imaging and echocardiography. Other areas of clinical duties may be available depending on need and interest of applicant.  Fair share of call coverage is expected.

  • Participate in educational/proctoring and clinical activities at OHSU in  conjunction with clinical need and research interests.  

Required Qualifications

  • MD/DO

  • Fellowship in General Cardiology

  • Experience as clinical cardiologist

  • Competencies in EKG, ZIO, echocardiogram, stress tests, nuclear studies interpretation

  • OR Medical License

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Cardiology/Cardiovascular Diseases. 

  • DEA Certificate

  • ACLS/BLS as required for clinical privileges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Board Certified in General Cardiology (this requirement must be obtained within first 2 years of employment)

Additional Details

  • Location: Hillsboro Medical Center, Hillsboro, Ore.
  • Monday – Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, fair share of call coverage is expected
  • Position provides direct patient care in both ambulatory and inpatient areas, with some risk of respiratory and blood borne pathogen exposures.
  • Occasional travel to OHSU main campus or other outreach facilities may be required.
  • Knowledge, skills and abilities to perform cardiac services with accuracy and skill. Ability to maintain a safe working environment. Strict adherence to Occupational Health requirements and use of Personal Protective Equipment as required. Ability to communicate complex medical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of patients and collaborators.
