The Associate VP of the Center for Learner Diversity and Inclusion (CLDI) leads the Center in its mission to:
In this role, the Associate VP advances the university’s goals for students toward diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging by leading the team of the Center and serving on the Student Affairs Leadership Team.
The Associate VP facilitates change in OHSU systems, structures, and culture to promote a student experience centered on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
The Associate VP is responsible for managing CLDI and its staff, developing programs and events that support equity and inclusion, facilitating partnerships that ensure diverse recruitment and retention practices for incoming students, developing training and educational strategies that lead to student success at OHSU, and providing university leadership in the area of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in collaboration with OHSU leaders and groups. The responsibilities of this position also include the operational, fiscal and personnel management CLDI, specifically i) day to day financial management of the Center; (ii) day to day management of employees, including scheduling of work, applicable HR activities and issue/conflict resolution; (iii) formulation of strategic direction for the Center, and (iv) setting of priorities and conducting budget generation and reconciliation activities.
Create effective programs, services, and outreach to improve the university’s efforts towards recruitment and retention of a diverse population of students, especially for underrepresented students.
Lead and manage the Center for Learner Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) office, space, and staff.
Serve as the university-wide leader in the development and implementation of DEIB programs, services, policies, training, and advocacy for students.
Develop a comprehensive assessment plan for the Center and for the student population through a university climate survey.
