Department Overview

The Pape Family Pediatric Research Institute with the Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Research Assistant 2 to contribute to projects investigating mechanisms of intestinal inflammation for therapeutic development.

 

We are looking for dynamic, organized, self-starters with a bachelor¿s degree to join our team and help us make new discoveries. Experience in a lab setting with molecular and/or cell biology, mouse models, and/or conducting experiments is desired. An interest in biomedical research, post-graduate training, and acquiring research-related skills is desired.

 

You can help us identify biological components of human milk that reduce inflammation in the neonatal disease necrotizing enterocolitis, help build better cellular models of the intestine, or help us define novel mechanisms of post-transcriptional regulation that control intestinal damage.

 

You will get training and experience with genetic mouse models, human patient samples, including novel 3D patient-derived organoids, cutting-edge molecular biology, extracellular vesicles, -omics approaches, and imaging techniques to answer critical questions.

 

Our translational research bridges the divide between basic mechanistic research and patient care.
