The Nursing Director for OHSU Health Heart and Vascular Service Line (ND HVSL) is responsible for directing, organizing, monitoring and improving service line activities at OHSU Healthcare to ensure seamless patient management along the continuum of care. The ND HVSL is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for upholding excellence in the provision of nursing care through the implementation of the Professional Practice Model. The SOD utilizes professional practice as the foundation for leading nursing practice. The ND HVSL ensures the provision of safe high quality patient/family-centered care, provides leadership development, implementation and evaluation of strategies and services and assures interdisciplinary collaboration among staff and leadership.
The ND HVSL is responsible for fiscal oversight, forecasting capital and operational expenses for the Heart and Vascular service line at OHSU and works collaboratively with HVSL/Strategy Department partners on creation and oversight of the annual service line budget, forecasting capital and operational expenses at the system level. The position supports maintenance of a competitive position in the cardiovascular marketplace. As such, the ND HVSL works collaboratively with clinical chairs, medical directors, administrative leadership, health system leaders, and community partners to develop and execute tactics consistent with the OHSU Health Strategic Plan. Additionally the ND HVSL will partner with service line leaders on developing and executing strategic planning for cardiovascular-related programs within OHSU Health System to ensure system-wide strategy and vision.
The ND HVSL holds responsibility for operational oversight associated with the KCVI Cardiology Clinic, Ventricular Assist Device Program and Non-Invasive Cardiology Services. Additionally, the ND HVSL oversees the advance practice providers responsible for Adult Congenital and Heart Failure programs and the Registered Nurses responsible Cardiac Stress Testing and the Cardiac Ischemia program.
