Department Overview

Oregon Health & Science University, Department of Internal Medicine, is looking for a Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Social Worker to fill support faculty roles on Addiction Medicine ECHO Programs. The purpose of the OHSU Addiction Medicine ECHO Program is to expand training and support of Oregon clinicians and other health professionals in the use of medications and other evidence-based treatments for the prevention and treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD) and other SUD, through the continuation and expansion of the OHSU Addiction Medicine ECHO Program. The OHSU Addiction Medicine Section (within DGIM) leads the program under the directorship of Daniel Hoover, MD, Assistant Professor.

 

This SUD Social Worker will fill the support faculty role on the Addiction Medicine ECHO programs during the 2023-24 academic year: SUD in Hospital Care Spring Cohort 2024.

 

Support faculty responsibilities include:

  • Participate in recruitment, curriculum development, and redevelopment as necessary, directed by the lead facilitators
  • Participate in virtual ECHO program sessions and provide case recommendations
  • Provide didactic presentations in area of expertise as directed by the curriculum needs and the ECHOs’ lead facilitators

Function/Duties of Position

  • Attend ECHO program sessions of SUD in Hospital Care. Provide recommendations to participant case presenters.
  • Develop and present didactic(s) as requested by lead facilitators for the ECHO programs.
  • Attend program meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s in Social Work
  • Social work license such as: LMSW, CSWA, LCSW
  • Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience providing social work services to individuals with SUD.
