Function/Duties of Position

We are looking for a Research Assistant 2 to join the Papé Family Pediatric Research Institute, Neuroscience Section. Our research focuses on the effects of mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and sleep on the developing brain. We use imaging (MRI) and different sleep measurements to understand how waste is eliminated from the brain in normal individuals, and in those who suffered from TBI. 

 

The person joining the lab will be tasked with study data entry and analysis, assisting with multiple study-related events (recruitment, consenting, appointments, etc.), and helping with other general lab duties.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in relevant field OR Associate's AND 3 years of relevant experience OR 4 years of relevant experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • Comfortable learning new software.
  • Ability to work and problem solve independently.
  • Willingness to learn and work with research subjects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in imaging research (MRI acquisition and processing).
  • Familiarity with imaging processing software (FSL, FreeSurfer, AFNI, MATLAB).
  • Recruiting and consenting for research studies.
  • Basic understanding of coding (familiarity with linux, Python, C, and/or other programming languages).
