Department Overview

South Operating Room (Main OR) is a large 25-bed OR primarily an adult inpatient operating room with a small volume of outpatient procedures including: Cardiac/ Thoracic, General Surgery/Minimally Invasive/ Colorectal/Bariatric, Gynecology, Oral Maxillofacial, Neuro/neuro spine, Orthopedic/orthopedic spine, Otolaryngology, Plastics, Transplant, Urology, Vascular, Robotic (Urology/GYN/Oral), and Trauma. Surgical procedures on infants and children less than 18 years of age are also performed if the procedure requires specialized equipment found only at this location.

 

The OHSU Operating Room provides around-the-clock multidisciplinary services to adult patients across their life span. The department cares for Ambulatory, Adult Acute Care and Adult ICU patients arriving from home, ED or from the In-Patient setting. OHSU is a Magnet designated hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center.

Function/Duties of Position

Up to $10,000 Hiring Bonus. Must start by July 1, 2024 to qualify. $49.16-$78.18 per hour, based on RN Degree and level of experience

The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. This position is exempt from on-call requirement.

Required Qualifications

  • ADN from an accredited school required
  • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (from AHA)
  • Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English
  • Basic computer skills including the ability to send/receive email, navigate information technology associated with the position, and use Electronic Health Record information and tools
  • 2 years Intra Operative experience
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accomodation
