Department Overview

The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement and maintain technology-based services and solutions enabling OHSU to effectively manage information to accomplish its missions.

Function/Duties of Position

The Senior Performance Improvement Consultant provides leadership and technical expertise in the implementation of OHSU-wide systems and associated processes considered critical to supporting the strategic mission and direction of the organization.  This position is expected to provide advanced internal consultation to Senior Administrative Leadership, Faculty Leadership, and Staff and to recommend and develop/provide key products and services to facilitate and ensure the success of assigned initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Education: 

Bachelor's Degree in information technology, healthcare, science, business, engineering, or statistics.  Evidence of relevant continuing education in the area of performance improvement and project management. 

 

Experience: 

  • 7 years of experience in performance improvement and/or project management

 

Job Related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Demonstrate through either previous position responsibilities:
    • Strong training skills and facilitation abilities
    • Evidence within last 2 years of Project Management skills working with teams requiring self-direction and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Examples within the last two years of projects showing evidence of detail oriented and superb organizational skills
    • Ability to work as a team member
    • Expertise in office automation computer software including word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheet, flow diagram and statistical programs.
    • Basic understanding of statistical and data analysis.
  • Six Sigma Certification and/or Lean Certification required. Additional 2 years of relevant experience may substitute for the certification requirement.
  • Experience using Oracle ERP, specifically HR, Payroll or related components
  • Experience with industry HR and payroll reporting concepts and standard metrics
