Department Overview

The research division within the OHSU Department of Occupational Health specializes in clinical research on issues relevant to the health of healthcare workers. The Division is led by Dr. Curlin who is a specialist in infectious diseases with expertise in virology, immunology and vaccine science.

Function/Duties of Position

This clinical research assistant I position will support study coordination for clinical research, with responsibilities including:

  • Review potential participants through chart review & discuss eligibility with research team.
  • Schedule and perform all participant visits, including informed consent, blood draws, and other study-related tasks as needed.
  • Schedule and communicate assessments and appointments with participants.
  • Maintain study data and address queries in a timely manner.
  • Place orders in Epic and track billable procedures.
  • Support regularly document development, including editing Sponsor documents to match OHSU requirements, as part of study start-up.
  • Perform study project management.

 

The individual in this role will have excellent person-skills, be detail-oriented, able to work on multiple projects, and be comfortable taking direction and reaching out when there are issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field OR
  • Associate's AND 2 years of relevant experience OR
  • 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Strong written, verbal comminication and proficeincy in MS Office Suite; meticulous record keeping and organization skills.

  • IRB training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or currently working toward Master’s Degree in Public Health.
  • 1 years of experience in clinical research
  • A working knowledge of FDA, DHHS, IRB and other agency guidelines that govern clinical research.

  • Experience working with Epic, or other EMR systems.

  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification

  • Phlebotomy training
