Department Overview

The Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) will assist with classroom teaching for two hours per week by facilitating learning activities such as group discussions and assist faculty with teaching the clinical practicum four to eight hours per week. In addition, the GTA will grade multiple case study analyses, several short-answer assignments, a paper, and review exam questions with students. The GTA may provide a short lecture depending on the expertise and experience.

Function/Duties of Position

Administrative

  • Under direct supervision, primarily provides general administrative support for a project, team, or work unit.  Similar to an Office Clerk or Specialist*.  May also include some basic data entry and report generation.

 

Research

  • Under direct supervision, primarily performs basic research or lab activities similar to a Research Assistant 1 or Lab Aide*. 

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate Program (minimum 4.5 credit hours)

Experience

  • Having gone through the OHSU undergraduate program would be helpful but not required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • RN license.

  • This position will be predominantly supporting a Hybrid Patho and Pharm course with Linda Felver.
