The OHSU Knight Cancer Institute seeks an Assistant Professor in Sarcoma Medical Oncology to join the state’s only dedicated sarcoma center. As a sarcoma attending physician, you will provide exceptional patient care, contribute to our strong educational mission, and participate in innovative clinical and translational research.

 

Function/Duties of Position

Clinical Care

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with sarcoma in a mix of outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Participate in OHSU’s weekly multidisciplinary Sarcoma Tumor Board, collaborating closely with experts in orthopedic oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pediatric oncology, pathology, and radiology.
  • Serve as an active member of the largest sarcoma referral program in Oregon, treating a high volume of complex cases.

 Research & Scholarship

  • Engage in sarcoma-focused clinical research, with mentorship and collaboration opportunities available through the Sarcoma Program and the Knight Cancer Institute.
  • Contribute to the Institute’s robust clinical trials portfolio (SWOG, SARC, investigator-initiated, and industry-sponsored studies).
  • Participate in the Precision Oncology SMMART Program, advancing personalized cancer care.

 Education & Teaching

  • Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Serve as a role model for academic excellence and patient-centered oncology care. 

Required Qualifications

Education & experience:

  • MD, MD/PhD. Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine
  • Board eligible/certified in Hematology and or/Medical Oncology.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in clinical care, teaching, and academic productivity.
