The Department of Pediatrics is recruiting a Research Associate to fill an open position in the newly formed Cutler Lab working directly with Dr. Jevon Cutler PhD. This research position involves extensive work with cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry. Such as: handling of multiple cancer cell lines, testing cellular phenotypes in response to drug treatments, culturing of primary cancer cells; generation of lentivirus and infecting cancer cells in culture, western blotting, flow cytometry, RNA/DNA preparation for downstream applications including RNA-seq/chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP)-seq assays including generation of publication quality experiments.
The Research Associate should be able to help plan and implement collaborative projects with partner labs, including teaching relevant techniques. It is expected that the Research Associate will be able to independently design and implement experiments; and will be responsible for writing and editing of manuscripts, attend weekly lab meetings and present research upon request.
Location of employment is in molecular biology research lab. Work involves possible exposure to malodorous vapors, low dose radiation, contamination by toxic chemicals and acids, presence of carcinogenic substances and human and animal tissues and fluids, including whole animals.
