The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery provides innovative, quality care for cosmetic and plastic surgery needs while simultaneously training surgeons to become experts in the field. Its faculty are specialists in their practice, including breast reconstruction, hand surgery, pediatric cleft and craniofacial surgery, gender affirming surgery and microsurgery. The team of plastic surgeons sponsors a six-year integrated plastic surgery residency program, a hand surgery fellowship program and, together with the Department of Urology, a gender surgery fellowship program.
The duties of this position revolve around teaching, research, and clinical activities. The teaching duties of the position involve participating in the education and training of medical and nursing students, house staff, and the regional medical community. A component of the position involves establishing and maintaining scholarly research activity directed toward the improved understanding of the causes, detection, and treatment of diseases. The clinical component of the position involves providing clinical care to patients at the University Hospitals and Clinics, as well as affiliated hospitals and clinics, and engaging in public service through consultative activities in the appointee’s specialty with non-University groups. This position will be primarily practicing at Orenco Station and Hillsboro Medical Center. This position will maintain a broad reconstructive practice focusing on general plastic and reconstructive surgery including - free flap reconstruction for breast, head and neck, trauma, lower extremity reconstruction and wound care.
