Department Overview

The Department of Urology at OHSU is committed to providing the highest quality, state-of-the-art care for adult and pediatric urology patients. Our physicians are recognized leaders in their fields, have advanced fellowship training in urological subspecialties, and are expert, high-volume surgeons. We consider it a privilege to be able to offer this care to our patients and continually strive to provide it with a personalized, patient-centered and compassionate focus. We also take pride in our contributions to new discoveries through research, and embrace our important role in training the next generation of top urologists.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will be instrumental in advancing OHSU’s core missions of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. Collaborating closely with the OHSU Department of Urology, particularly within the Oncologic Urology program, the APP will provide high-quality urologic care primarily at the Center for Health and Healing on the OHSU South Waterfront Campus. Clinical responsibilities will be determined by the Department Chair, with approximately 50% of the APP's time dedicated to assisting in the operating room and the remainder spent delivering patient care in the clinic and managing indirect follow-up. This combination of clinic and OR duties will result in a variable work schedule. The APP may also contribute to the education of support staff within their area of expertise and may be invited to teach at the School of Nursing or the School of Medicine through lectures. They will mentor students, trainees, and staff by modeling best practices and delegating responsibilities to foster learning. Additionally, the APP may engage in scholarly research to enhance the understanding, detection, and treatment of urologic diseases and may participate in public service activities with both OHSU and external organizations, as approved by the Department Chair.
