Function/Duties of Position

The Division of Geriatrics and Internal Medicine is seeking a Research Assistant 2 that will serve as a Research Assistant (RA) for a range of research and program projects addressing substance use disorders and HEPC. Under the direction of the PI and Program Director, the RA will assist in implementing the day-to-day operations of the programs, including communication and administrative activities. The RA will communicate with peers and patients, schedule tele-HCV appointments, and monitors clinical data collection. The RA will assist in development of standard operating procedures and help to resolve implementation issues as needed. Ideal candidate will have a broad skill set expanding from organizing and taking meeting notes, to coordinating stakeholders in developing relationships to implement clinical programs. The RA will exercise judgment within PHI and as defined by Good Clinical Practice and HIPAA guidelines to determine appropriate action via reporting mechanisms and structures (Institutional Review Board). The position may assist with grant applications and dissemination activities. Candidate must be available to communicate with patients between 10 am and 7 pm Monday through Friday.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in relevant field OR
  • Associate's AND 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • 4 years of relevant experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments;

  • Must possess energy and drive to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy to maintain effective working relationships.

  • Must have excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills:  both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year program coordination, project management, experience with harm reduction for substance use disorders, quality assurance, experience with Institutional Review Boards, Microsoft Office package, REDCap.
  • Research methodology; basic knowledge in fields of substance abuse and HEPC
