The mission of the Information Technology Group (ITG) is to develop, implement and maintain technology-based services and solutions enabling Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) to effectively manage information to accomplish its missions.
As a member of the Office of Advanced Analytics this position will be part of a dynamic and energetic collaborative environment that supports the organization in the use of data and information to further OHSU¿s mission to strive for excellence in education, research and scholarship, clinical practice and community service. Members of the Office of Advanced Analytics leverage knowledge and best practices to assist OHSU in applying advanced analytical practices such as statistical modeling, simulation and predictive analytics to facilitate decision making and planning throughout the organization.
This position will be tasked with building predictive, forecasting, and optimization models for the system of hospitals at OHSU health. The models are designed to improve operational efficiency and performance. The domains of data will include information about patients, admissions, procedures, transfers, emergency, clinical teams, and staffing. Models will be built using historical data and adapted for current or real-time updates. The position will work alongside a data engineer to help extract and transform data between sources.
The Operations Modeling Analyst will be helping to design visualization tools and functionality for users to interact with the modeling results. The solution for OHSU Health is also expected to have use case in other hospitals and systems and will need to anticipate structures available in other hospitals using similar electronic medical records. A strong analytic background solving problem with a variety of quantitative approaches is needed.
The Operations Modeling Analyst will be using methodology for time series, statistical, and predictive modeling. Models will be built in an enterprise repository (GIT) environment. Models will be built in and adapted in scripting languages (R and python). The build will involve a combination of cloud-based tools in the Microsoft toolset, as well as interacting with Epic software.
The position exists within ITG and will have access and responsibilities of other ITG employees. ITG employees are responsible for the security of OHSU technology. In exercising their duties, ITG employees must follow OHSU's security directives, incorporating security measures in the delivery of their everyday tasks, and are required to report security concerns to the OHSU Integrity Office and/or ITG Security Engineering team.
Education:
Master’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and four years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and six years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Associate’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and seven years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Eight years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associate’s degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
