The Strategic Sourcing department is a key function within OHSU that focuses on optimizing the procurement of purchase services and goods. This team is instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and selecting contractors that align with OHSU's strategic goals. This involves assessing contractors' capabilities, financial stability, and performance. Overall, Strategic Sourcing aims to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes, ensuring that OHSU achieves the best possible value from its contractors while supporting its broader strategic objectives.
The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for sourcing products or services that provide OHSU exceptional quality while maintaining a total cost of ownership (TCO) that is most beneficial to OHSU, its stakeholders, and its patients. This position coordinates efficiencies through enterprise-wide purchasing volume and negotiating with suppliers. As the leader responsible for procurement effectiveness on a category of products or services, the Sourcing Manager will lead projects, analyze data, work with teams and manage policies, processes and resources on a large scale.
This position will partner with the Contracts Manager to drive the process of completing agreements initiated during the sourcing process.
Identifies sourcing initiatives and completes the sourcing methodology process: Opportunity initiation, internal analysis, industry analysis, business knowledge and procurement expertise to develop strategic sourcing strategies, supplier selection and operationalize the selection. Successfully completes process deliverables for checkpoints and validation with stakeholders.
Defines and provides direction to customers on contracted items and appropriate purchasing method. Facilitate dispute resolution items with respect to contracts for assigned categories.
Manages supplier communication, strategy and direction for the sourcing process. Coordinates with other team members to take a holistic approach with suppliers involved. Manages reference site and supplier site visits in the sourcing process.
Ensures that customer needs are met in a timely manner including communication with requesters and suppliers. Acts as a liaison between Sourcing and non-SC& L departments (such as AP, ITG, HR, etc.)
