Department Overview

The University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) has a 50-year history at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. The UCEDD at OHSU works to promote the health and quality of life of Oregonians with disabilities through education, community service, research and information sharing.

Function/Duties of Position

The purpose of this temporary position is to fulfill a sub-contract with Oregon’s Department of Human Services. In this role, the Community Research Liaison will complete an assigned portion of the required 400 surveys of adult consumers of state DD services for the National Core Indicators project. Survey Interviewer will schedule and conduct virtual and/or in-person surveys with study participants.

 

Note about hours: .15 FTE in 6 months is a 12 hrs/week commitment.

Required Qualifications

  • Associates AND 3 years of relevant experience OR 4 years of relevant experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Driver’s License and proof of vehicle insurance if you will be using your own vehicle to get to interview sites and OHSU.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet time sensitive deadlines
  • Attend virtual multi-day mandatory training on dates to be determined by OHSU
  • Ability to plan for and conduct interviews online or in the interviewee home or community setting in potentially noisy environments
  • Ability to conduct interviews online in confidential workspace
  • Ability to keep organized records of schedules/interviews/other activities for weekly reports
  • Sitting- Ability to sit for up to 2 hours for interview session
  • Computer/Internet- Have own computer with webcam and highspeed internet. Have private area to conduct confidential interviews. Ability to use Microsoft Outlook OHSU email account using repetitive keystrokes, and ability to enter data into a secure database
  • Software- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, PDF, and Timecard to fill out required tracking forms using touch pad and keystrokes
  • Hardware- Ability to use (or be trained to successfully use) iPhone and computer to conduct interviews and transfer data using touchpad and keystrokes
  • Transportation- Candidate must have reliable transportation to interview sites or OHSU and if using own vehicle, ability to drive to interview sites, a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Disability Studies, Psychology, Public Health, Human Services, or Social Work.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities or have a family member with a disability
  • Experience with cold calling or scheduling
  • Experience conducting interviews
  • Surveying and/or clinical interviewing
  • Research experience
  • Handling sensitive materials or HIPAA experience
