Department Overview

The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

Function/Duties of Position

This is a 12-month full time Audiology Externship beginning June 2025.  Applicants can expect a well-rounded clinical placement, offering experience in both pediatric and adult populations in a demanding and diverse environment. Externs will serve patients within a large hospital-based outpatient clinic.  Externs will gain hands-on experience in diagnostics, hearing aids, osseointegrated devices, cochlear implants and aural rehabilitation.  Our team collaborates daily with our neuro-otologists and otolaryngologist providers, allowing for evidence-based comprehensive treatment plans for our patients.  

 

We are seeking applicants who have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and who are motivated to provide exceptional service and care to individuals and families.  The audiology extern candidate must be enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Audiology program. Successful candidates should demonstrate the ability to work within a fast-paced setting and work closely with other clinicians. 

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants should be Doctorate of Audiology Students in their final year, needing clinical hours required to complete an AuD.
  • Ability to perform the job duties with or without accommodation.
