Department Overview

The TI (Therapeutic Intervention) Research Assistant II will play a pivotal role in supporting the research initiatives of Dr. Dennis Crawford, a sports medicine surgeon in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. This position will primarily focus on coordinating clinical research activities related to cartilage technology, cell development, tissue transplant, and startup device development.

 

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in sports medicine and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Previous individuals in this role have gone on to medical, PA, law, and graduate school.

Function/Duties of Position

  • Clinical Trial Management: Assist in the ongoing management of clinical trials, including CTA preparation, research grants, and affiliated research.
  • Grant Proposal Development: Contribute to the planning, budgeting, and application (including IRB authorization) of grant proposals and research protocols related to Sports Medicine, Sports Injury, and orthopaedic care and medicine.
  • Research Support: Provide general research support, including maintenance of records, organization of presentations and publication material, and assistance with academic development for Dr. Crawford.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a TI Senior Research Associate to ensure efficient and effective research operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in relevant field OR
  • Associate's AND 2 years of relevant experience OR
  • 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience
  • BA/BS with major coursework in bioscience-related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior research experience. Experience with clinical trials.
