The OHSU Division of General Medicine & Geriatrics has built an integrated team practice model for delivering high quality medical care and service to the patients we serve. Primary Care has a mission and values-driven culture, which includes patient care, academia, teaching, research and leadership. Commitment to excellence in patient care is mirrored in the culture, compensation and benefits enjoyed by clinicians and employees. Our practice also includes innovative models for delivering structured care to populations of patients with chronic conditions.
The Division of General Internal Medicine at OHSU houses multiple cross-departmental, collaborative research programs within the Department of Medicine. We are currently seeking applicants to fill a 1 or 2 year post-doctoral position. The candidate would work with Dr. Zhu and collaborators at the Center for Health Systems Effectiveness across a number of exciting, policy-relevant projects focused on provider consolidation and workforce issues, behavioral health, and access to care.
The postdoctoral fellow is expected to complete 2-3 research projects during a 2-year fellowship period or 1-2 projects during a 1-year appointment. This is a unique opportunity for outstanding, driven, and creative postdoctoral fellows to perform cutting edge and high-risk translational research. This position is intended to help the candidate launch a successful academic career through mentored research, professional development opportunities, and didactic coursework where appropriate. Postdoctoral fellows will collaborate with Dr. Zhu and a number of other faculty and staff on research projects, to help design and implement original studies, conduct data analyses, and lead scientific publications.
Postdoctoral fellows will receive a competitive stipend, an annual allowance for travel and research, and workspace on OHSU's Marquam Hill campus. The University also provides a medical, vision, dental, and life insurance benefits package. DGIM is committed to increasing the diversity of the campus community. We are dedicated to promoting inclusion and multiculturalism to build a successful organization by having outstanding researchers of diverse backgrounds work together on multiple projects. We encourage high-risk, high-reward research projects because addressing the multifaceted challenges of addiction requires unproven, out-of-the-box thinking. Our research is milestone driven to ensure that each project is fulfilling its stated goals.
