The OHSU Division of General Medicine & Geriatrics has built an integrated team practice model for delivering high quality medical care and service to the patients we serve. Primary Care has a mission and values-driven culture, which includes patient care, academia, teaching, research and leadership. Our practice also includes innovative models for delivering structured care to populations of patients with chronic conditions. Candidates with an interest in and experience with chronic care models of health care and coordination of care of complex patients in various settings will receive priority consideration. Our practice is recognized by the State of Oregon as a Patient Centered Primary Care Home clinic site.
The Medical Director of Primary Care – Old Town Clinic (OTC) collaborates with the Chief Medical Officer in all aspects of providing superior clinical care, establishing and promoting the professional, clinical, and ethical values and standards to which all clinical staff are expected to adhere. The Medical Director’s purview includes Old Town Clinic as well as Central City Concern’s Hansen Clinic and Mobile Medical providers. In these settings, the Medical Director promotes the quality and safety of care, establishing and maintaining the program’s standards of clinical care, as well as fostering a culture of open communication and continuous improvement.
Faculty in the Division of General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics participate actively in teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and each other. Opportunities for teaching abound and participation is encouraged and valued. As a faculty member, the Medical Director will be expected to participate in continuing education, professional and faculty development and scholarship, as directed by the department. Compensation for this position will include a base academic salary, paid through the academic department, plus a clinical salary from an incentive system based on the success and productivity for their clinical work at OHSU campus, as well as personal initiative.
This is a faculty position that potentially provides opportunities for teaching, scholarship, and service within the university and beyond.
